The Philippines now has a law that forbids virtual sex

The law’s main purpose was to protect the average internet user. But since the text of the law leaves room for interpretation, innocent people can be also attacked and accused of breaking the new law.

It didn’t take long and organizations like the Internet Defense League or the Electronic Frontier Foundation attacked the new law. It is hard for now to say if this law will remain unchanged or how will it be changed. But one thing is certain. The Philippines opened the Pandora’s Box. Now other countries are more likely to adopt similar laws in order to ban cyber sex and other illegal internet practices.
