A Turkish Airlines cargo plane crashed into homes near Manas airport


After the crash, two houses in the community caught fire The flight was making a stopover at Manas en route to Istanbul in Turkey. The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed but the visibility was poor at the time of the accident. Only one crew member survived. The country’s Emergencies Ministry said the plane crashed in a dacha community – basic housing often located just outside major former-Soviet cities. Firefighters, policemen, doctors arrived at the scene. Members of the Kyrgyzstan government, including Vice prime minister Mukhammetkaliy Abulgaziev, are at the scene. The airport in Manas was closed. Such accidents, affecting homes areas are not very common but can occur especially if the emplacement of buildings near airports it’s not controlled by the authorities.
