Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), which owns stakes in the huge US bank Citigroup and the Euro Disney theme park and which is listed on the Saudi stock exchange. “Preventing a woman from driving a car is today an issue of rights similar to the one that forbade her from receiving an education or having an independent identity. They are all unjust acts by a traditional society, far more restrictive than what is lawfully allowed by the precepts of religion,” he said. At the present, Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are not allowed to drive and a large number of the drivers in transportation are foreigners, employed at considerable expense. A change however will not be easy to be made , protests about the ban go back 20 years without results
