Two trains collided in Pakistan: six passengers were killed, more than 100 injured

Initial investigations suggest the driver of passenger train was at fault for the crash. The track signal turned red, but the oncoming passenger train missed the signal and hit the freight train. The crash destroyed the first four cars of the 10-car passenger train, which was en route to the southern port city of Karachi. The injured passengers were taken to hospitals, some of them in a critical condition. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in a statement expressed sympathies for the families of the dead and injured. Many of the passengers were returning from celebrating the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. Most of the people were asleep when the trains hit. Many of the victims suffered head injuries.
