Saudi authorities say that everyone must show consideration for the sacred Islamic rituals and for Muslims’ feelings.
Someone caught not complying with these rules will immediately be expeled from the country. This rule is valid not only for Saudi Arabia’s 19 000 000 citizens but also for foreign immigrants that work there or are exiled in Saudi Arabia: about 8 million other people.
The interior Ministry released the warning this Friday after observing how the first day of the Ramadan “played out”. The new enforced rule doesn’t come as a surprise in the ultra-conservative Sunni kingdom. Sunni kindgdom is the home of some of Islam’s most holiest sites. A stict interpreation of their religion was always enforced in this part of Saudi Arabia.
