Landslide occurred in Shaanxi province, China, dozens are missing

14 people had been rescued on bad weather, heavy rain. The powerful Typhoon Soudelor hit southern China over the weekend. At least 26 people remain missing. The search is still on. Dozens of soldiers, some with sniffer dogs, were at the scene looking for signs of life. Neighboring residents have been moved out of the area. Chinese President has ordered all-out rescue efforts. A work team of the State Council has been sent to the site to oversee the search. China has seen severe weather during the current monsoon season. The mine’s operator was identified by the official Xinhua news agency as Wuzhou mining company, which according to its parent company is mainly a vanadium producer. Accidents in Chinese mines killed 931 people last year.
