In fact, however, after about two hours, two prominent Pakistani politicians, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) member of National Assembly Dr Ramesh Kumar Wakwani , were on the point to access the plane. Angry passengers on board reacted and forced them off the plane accusing them of holding it for more than two hours. “Malik sahab, sorry. You should go back. You should apologise to these passengers. You should be ashamed of yourself… 250 passengers have suffered because of you. It is your fault, sir” said a passenger to the former interior minister. Other people, including the plane’s crew, clapped expressing the solidarity with this demand. Malik tweeted later that he had nothing to do with the delay. After that, he boarded PK-300, another Islamabad-bound flight, which too started 50 minutes late.

The incident on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport was filmed by a passenger and uploaded on the sharing website Daily Motion.
