Brutal stoning punishment again in the Afghanistan

A member of the sharia Islamic law committee confirmed the existence of the stoning punishment in the draft of the new penal code in Afghanistan. He specified this will be applied if there are four eyewitnesses to prove the adultery. Rohullah Qarizada specified that the US and United Nations officials were aware of the plan to reintroduce stoning. He is however optimistic believing this will not become a general practice because the judge asks each witness many questions and if one answer differs the court will reject the claim. But the possibility to be at least shot in public execution for committing adultery will always remain.
Some countries, donors, engaged in the international effort to help change life conditions for the Afghan people, have been stopping giving money because Afghanistan had failed to meet commitments to protect women’s rights and fight corruption.
