Philippines needs international help after disaster produced by the typhoon Haiyan


The President Benigno Aquino visited Tacloban on Sunday and concluded that the first necessary step is to bring back peace and order.
The rescue workers were overwhelmed in their efforts to help countless survivors and destruction hampers rescue efforts. This is the greatest disaster in the country’s history and an international help is expected. The US President Barack Obama expressed the American compassion for the victims announcing that the US is ready to offer help in recovery efforts. British Prime Minister David Cameron offered an emergency support package worth $ 9,6 million. The United Nations leader Bank Ki-moon promised the rapid response of the humanitarian agencies and the European Commission would give three million Euros to help relief efforts. The UNICEF Philippines representative Tomoo Hozumi declared that critical supplies for children will be provided in a short time.
