The bubonic plague killed a teenager in Kyrgyzstan

As a consequence of this major health warning, 160 people which had contact with the deceased, including doctors and medical staff, were quarantined. Around 2,000 people in the area were obliged to do mandatory tests for the plague. More than 300 medics were travelling in the area to give instructions to the residents monitoring the situation.
Special controls along the Kyrgyzstan border were imposed on the neighboring country, Kazakhstan.
A regional sport tournament scheduled and will no longer be held in Kyrgyzstan next month.
According to the appreciation of the Kyrgyzstan Health Minister Dinara Saginbayeva, we can’t discuss about an epidemic plague. The bubonic plague is a bacterial infection which killed millions of people seven centuries ago. Today it can be treated with antibiotics.
