Couple got maried in Zimbabwe after bride losed an arm in crocodile attack


They were canoeing on the Zambezi, one of Africa’s longest rivers, when the attack happened on 30 April. Five days later the couple go married in a hospital chapel, keeping their wedding date. A Minister presided over the ceremony at the Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo on Sunday.


“I was shouting, trying to save her. She was not complaining of pain when we managed to pull her out of the water, maybe because of the shock. We were hoping the doctors would save her arm but that was not to be,” Fox declared. “In one week we went from shock and agony to a truly amazing experience,” 27-year-old Jamie Fox also said. Zanele, 25, a former national tennis player for Zimbabwe and British-born Jamie were planning to get married at Victoria Falls. They were dating for 18 months. Different things happened. but „their feelings and love for each other are even stronger than before if anything”, a family friend said. Canoe trips on the Zambezi, which forms part of the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, are popular with tourists. Crocodiles were the biggest killers out of all wild animals in Zimbabwe last year with 21 fatal attacks on people.
