At least 20 people were killed and more than 30 others wounded in a car bomb blast in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Friday night. A car packed with explosives was detonated at the gates of Luul Yemeni restaurant near the port. The explosion was followed by heavy gunfire. The terror group Al-Shabaab which is linked to al-Qaida has claimed responsibility for the attack. The group controls rural areas of southern Somalia.The Luul Yamani restaurant also was attacked last year. The United Nations swiftly condemned the attack. “The Secretary-General strongly condemns the deadly terrorist attack that took place in Mogadishu yesterday. He extends his profound condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured. He calls for the perpetrators of this attack to be brought to justice,” said spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
