Former South Africa president Nelson Mandela was last night readmitted in hospital suffering from a lung infection which has been recurring.Current President, Jacob Zuma, today in a statement appealed to the world as a whole to pray for the celebrated leader's recovery.
This is the third time in the past 4 months that 94 year old Mandela has been hospitalized.He was readmitted to hospital yesterday shortly before midnight however, news about his status as not released for several hours. In December last year, Mr. Mandela was hospitalized for 19 days suffering from a lung infection and underwent a surgical removal of gallstones.Earlier this month, he was hospitalized for what they said was a routine checkup.
Mr. Mandela's lung problems are said to culminate from tuberculosis which he contracted when he was incarcerated for 27 years during the country's apartheid era.
President Jacob Zuma added that they had full faith in the medical team who are doing everything possible to ensure that Mr. Mandela recovered.
