Huugjilt, 18 years old, was charged with the rape and murder of a young woman who was killed in April 1996 in a public restroom next to the textile factory where he worked. The teenager was sentenced to death just one month later and was executed on June 10, 1996.

Typhoon Hagupit killed people and produced big damage in Philippines

Typhoon Hagupit, locally known as Ruby, which hit the Philipppines hard this weekend, the 18th to batter this disaster-prone country this year, slowly fizzled out weakening into a tropical storm, into the South China Sea, leaving at least 21 people dead and forcing more than a million into shelters.

Suicide bomber killed 57 and wounded dozens in Afghanistan

The country's deadliest terrorist attack this year in Afghanistan was a suicide bomber at a volleyball tournament on Sunday. The blast occurred in the Yahya Khail district of Paktika. Hundreds of young men and boys were on the place. 57 people were killed.
