Google began promoting its iOS apps through web ads

Google was very active in iOS software developing ever since Apple announced it will no longer pre-load Google maps in future iOS updates. That meant Google had to develop its own set of applications for iOS. Furthermore, Google wanted to use this opportunity and own iOS at the application level.
