The in-house version of this application was not publicly launched yet. Facebook will launch it this year in the upcoming weeks. Snapchat first became popular last year when the social network’s users saw how cool this new feature was. Sending private messages that can self-destruct can come in handy many times especially because this even works when sending messages to people that use Facebook from a mobile phone.
Snapchat keeps on improving. Recently Snapchat added “self-destructible” video messages to its feature list. But Facebook is already close-by. The competing application will offer basically most of the features SnapChat already offers. All Facebook users will be able to send messages that can only viewed for a fixed amount of time. This just comes to show that the company takes aggressive steps towards moving up in the communication space.
