A major upgrade was made to WhatsApp: the change affects the number of people who can be added to a Group Chat, now up to 512. According to the team at the messaging service, this boost has been added due to feedback from fans of the popular app. The upgrade is spreading. It is slowly rolling across the world so some users may get it before others. To see if it is available on a particular phone right now simply start a new Group Chat and then check the “Add Participants” setting at the top of the screen. If the number is 0/512 is ok. If it is 256 an an up-to-date version of the app is needed via the Android and Apple App stores.
Along with that Group Chat upgrade, WhatsApp also recently added two more features to its platform including being able to send bigger files. That’s now been boosted to a more generous 2GB from the previous limit of 100MB. much easier to send videos and other large files. The other improvement is about emoji reactions. They can be now quickly added in a conversation. “Reactions are fun, fast, and they reduce overload in groups too. We’ll continue improving them by adding an even broader range of expressions in the future,” the developers said. To add a reaction simply tap and hold on a message. You’ll then see six reactions appear on the screen including a thumbs up, love heart, laughing face, shocked face, sad face and hands preying. Select one and that is, it will then appear on the message. They can also be edited or deleted. What to say in a few words ? With such improvements, WhatsApp is for sure here to stay !
