61,000 dishwashers recalled in Canada


The dishwashers were manufactured in the United States and by BSH Home Appliances Corporation. Health Canada says there have been five fires related to the power cords in the United States. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries. No damage has been reported in Canada. The affected products were sold from January 2013 to May 2015 in Canada at appliance and specialty retailers, department stores, authorized builder distributors, home improvement stores nationwide as well as online. If you have one of the dishwashers affected by the recall, you are advised to stop using it immediately and call the Safety Recall Hotline at 1-888-965-5813 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST for a free inspection and repair.


This recall is also posted on the OECD Global Portal on Product Recalls website. Model and serial numbers are printed inside the dishwasher either on the top of the inner door panel or on the right side of the dishwasher panel. Dishwashers are a popular product in both countries, the U.S. and Canada.
