People began speculating that the launch of Windows Phone 8 (WP8) will be delayed. The Release to Manufacturing (RTM) is the first stage in the release period from a software release life cycle. A photo with WP8 codenamed Apollo was posted on Weibo’s twitter account.
Big phone manufacturers such as Samsung, Nokia or HTC will get the RTM version. The phones will be tested in order to ensure Windows Phone 8 works as expected and the end-user gets the expected user experience. Furthermore each phone manufacturer will choose what other applications and games will be preinstalled on their WP8 phones.
Nokia confirmed the launch of their first WP8 phones to be on 2nd of November while other companies that collaborate with Microsoft are expected to launch their Windows Phone 8 devices in the middle of November.
