The plastic was traced back to Veghel factory which determined that it came from a protective cover used in the plant’s manufacturing process. According to Mars Germany’s spokesman Raoul Hamacher, the possibly impacted candy bar lines were produced between mid-June 2015 and mid-January 2016. The company could not immediately say how many chocolate bars might be involved in the recall but what we know is that Mars Germany alone produces nearly 10 million snacks every day. “With this recall, we would like to prevent consumers who have purchased one of the above-mentioned products from consuming it,” said Mars. Possibly, this recall is the biggest ever in the company’s history.
