U.S. regulators sent a letter to manufacturers, importers and retailers Thursday, saying they will seize or recall any hoverboards if they fail to meet recently-released safety requirements. The CPSC said it wants the hoverboard industry to follow requirements set earlier this month by UL, an independent company that tests the safety of products for manufacturers. Hoverboards are build with a lot of attractive features for customers: customizable LED lighting, bluetooth compatibility with speakers for music and alerts, LVS readouts for data at-a-glance and more. However, the battery quality remains the most important thing to be solved and it’s not so easy to meet the standards. The product must be made safe to meet the expectances of customers.
