PlayStation 2 games will be available on the PSN for PS4

Sony explained this to the public: “PS2 Classics and PS2-formatted discs are incompatible with the PS4 system… PS2 titles playable on PS4 will support 1080p/60fps, trophies and features unique to PS4 — Live Broadcast, Share Play, Remote Play, Activity, Second Screen — and offers an upgraded gaming experience compared to PS One/PS2 Classics”. The first Play Station 2 classic games are already available on the PSN: Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas, The Mark of Kri, Twisted Metal Black. The price of the games ranges from $10 to $15.

With a totally different strategy Microsoft wants to show everybody that it cares about Xbox gamers. People owning Play Station’s rival console Xbox One will be happy to learn that Microsoft plans to make all Xbox 360 video games work on Xbox One console with no additional costs from existing game owners’ pockets. Last month the company revealed the first 104 Xbox 360 game titles that are already supported by the Xbox One. No matter if the games are on physical discs or downloaded digitally, Microsoft commits it will support them all.
