Executive Shuhei Yoshida declared this during an interview in regards to Sony’s PlayStation 4 success. Sony admitted it had “modest projections” for its latest console and sales quickly exceeded estimations soon after it was launched. Yoshida declared that the console “is still the fastest-selling PlayStation platform ever, still”. The path that the PS4 ecosystem is on right now is to Sony’s liking.
And when a platform is doing that well, third-parties also support it more. The release of PlayStation VR in 2016 will be according to plan. But until then there still is work to be done on Sony’s side, in terms on ensuring that a higher volume of AAA exclusive titles will be released on the PS4. This is especially needed considering that PlayStation VR will be priced as a new gaming platform by itself.
