This however is not true. The storm of complaints seen on social media websites and on game forums were in the end based on an assumption made by everybody after reading Vincent Pontbriand’s quote. Ubisoft denies it lowered Playstation 4 specifications of the game. A spokesperson declared the following: “Final specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity aren’t cemented yet, but we can say we showed Assassin’s Creed Unity at 900p during our hands-on preview event last week”. Thus Ubisoft enforces the fact that it has not limited the game’s performance but rather considered 900p as an initial target for PS4 version of Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Assassin’s Creed Unity’ specifications one PS4 are not final and game fans who are used with the regularity in which Playstation4 games render at a slightly better resolution than Xbox One games might soon also have a 1080p version of this game.

Ubisoft finally drew a line under the controversy and concluded: “Over the past 4 years, we have created Assassin’s Creed Unity to attain the tremendous level of quality we have now achieved on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s a process of building up toward our goals, not scaling down, and we’re proud to say that we have reached those goals on all SKUs.”
