Online web stores don't have it in stock either, or at least the biggest part of them don't. Reportedly there still are some stores that have a couple of PlayStation 4 gaming consoles on stock but these are selling out as we speak.
People are looking for it so much that some store owners had to take some measures. A Kmart from Charleston, SC, asked all their employees from the electronics department call center line to add the following sentence to their normal customer greeting: "If you're calling about the PlayStation 4, we're already sold out. How can I help you?"
The low availability of the PlayStation4 might also be because of Sony's plan to help it meet consumer demand during the entire holiday season. Back in September the company stated: "We want to make sure people can buy a PS4 on November 15 and through the holidays, so we're holding back some inventory to make sure people will be able to buy one".
Sony did not yet make a statement on the current situation for its much anticipated gaming console but many market analysts believe we can expect some official statements in the next weeks just in time to steal some of Microsoft's Xbox One thunder.
