A recent study analyzed the feedback this Apple product got over various websites that sold the cable. To everyone's surprise the Lightning to USB Cable (1 m), which is shipped with the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, got the most negative reviews on Apple's own store. More than 67% of the existing reviews for the $19 accessory got the lowest available rating.
There were multiple reasons behind this negative feedback but mostly people just hate the accessory because it breaks easily. The same study showed that the same product got way better ratings on Amazon's website. There 1100 ratings out of the total 1800 ratings gave the cable, which currently has an average rating of 3.9 stars, the maximum of 5 stars.
Amazon however sells its own variant of the Lighting cable and this accessory, which is part of Amazon's line of electronics accessories named Amazon Basics, has a higher rating than Apple's original Lighting cable with far more reviews (over 2860 reviews in total).
