The operating system by Microsoft was released for manufacturing last year on the first day of August, and it was released for the mass public on October 26, 2012.
The tremendous feat was announced by the chief marketing and financial office of Microsoft, Tami Reller. In a blogpost he wrote that, till January Microsoft sold 60 million licenses and certainly the growth is good on the number of certified devices for Windows 8 and Windows RT.
Tami Reller also stated that there will be a new update available later this year codenamed “Windows Blue”. He further added that, the new update will offer latest innovations and create new opportunities for the eco-system. The update will also bring in a lot more on the table for the businesses and provide users with more options to work.
In other news, Microsoft is going to announce its next-gen Xbox on May 21, 2013 i.e. just within a couple of weeks.
