A iPhone battery exploded and prompted evacuation at an Apple store on Zurich

An iPhone battery overheated at an Apple store on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse on Tuesday suddenly exploded for an unknown reason. It was being removed by a repair worker which was injured, having burns. Seven other people received medical attention but were not hospitalized. Apple employees reacted quickly by sprinkling sand on the overheating battery.

LG announced an 88-inch 8K OLED television

The Korean tech LG has announced Sunday an 88-inch 8K OLED television with a 7680 x 4320 resolution. Is four times that of 4K, and 16 times more than the standard full-HD, 1,080x1,920-pixel resolution.  It’s both the largest and highest resolution OLED panel ever built in the world. It will be exposed on the LG stand during the annual Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show  which begins on January 7.

Snapchat launched the Lens Studio AR developer tool for desktops

Snapchat is permitting now to outside developers to place interactive, imaginary 3D objects in your photos and videos. They will have to use  the just launched now Lens Studio AR developer tool for desktops. However brands, news publishers, and developers will have to promote their own Lenses by marketing their QR Snapcodes that users scan to unlock an AR effect for 24 hours.
