McAfee founder, John McAfee Detained in Guatemala

Guatemalan authorities have detained John McAfee for illegally entering the Guatemala. In accordance to a post on McAfee’s blog, McAfee was detained in an immigration office in the city of Guatemala.

McAfee, 67, undertook a number of disguises and hiding maneuver to escape police. He stated that he avoided getting caught by changing his appearance and by burying himself in sand.

After the murder of McAfee’s neighbor, Gregory Faull, a 52-year-old contractor, Belize police searched his home on November 11. The government of Belize is yet to hear from the Guatemalan authorities regarding the arrest. In addition, the Belize government expressed no interest in extraditing McAfee since he has not been charged with a crime.

According to an AP report, McAfee sought refuge in Guatemala.

John McAfee moved to Belize back in 2008 following his shrinking of $100 million fortune to $4 million. The landslide happened following a number of failed investments in real estate, bonds and property.
