Arrests in 18 countries in ‘Blackshades’ Hacking

The FBI’s investigation revealed that the remote access tool (RAT) had been purchased by “at least several thousand users in more than 100 countries and used to infect more than half a million computers worldwide.“ This was the largest global cyber operation to date The two co-creators of Blackshades, Alex Yucel and Michael Hogue, were arrested in 2012 the first  and in 2013 the second. The US Attorney General Eric Holder communicated that such activities – as those possible with Blackshades software – will not be tolerated. The efforts to defend the personal information and the privacy of the computers users are made all around the world.
