The real extent of the hack was revealed by password security expert Jeremy Gosney, CEO of SCG. In a Pastebin post he described: "thanks to Adobe's selection of ECB mode and using the same key for every password, combined with a number of known plaintexts and the generosity of users who flat-out gave us their password in their password hint, this is not preventing us from presenting you with this list of the top 100 passwords selected by Adobe users."
Among the top100 passwords many consisted of only numbers. The Adobe breach may not have yet such a big impact but all users are advised to change their passwords to their Adobe account as well as to their email if they happen to use the same password.
