Rumor: Microsoft Surface Phone under development, expected to hit the UK market first

Tech-based rumor site DigiTimes suggests that tech giant Microsoft in collaboration with China based manufacturer Foxconn to produce the company’s first Surface phone running on Windows Phone 8.

If rumors are to be believed then, Foxconn has come to a deal with to produce the first Microsoft Surface Phone running on Windows Phone 8 in mid-2013.  The sources also suggest that initially only a limited volume of phones will be shipped.

Another rumor suggests that Microsoft will be pushing these phones outside the home U.S. market first.

According to reports from SlashGear, Microsoft is looking to hit its new phone at the European bricks and mortar stores. As a matter of fact, the company is reportedly in talks with UK to set their foot in the smartphone market.  Microsoft is expected to launch its first UK shop in 2013. Exact time is yet to be disclosed.
