Popular social media platform Instagram has announced several new features for Android users: Notes, Candid Stories, and Group Profiles. Practically, users will have more ways to stay connected to their friends and family. They are all interesting. With „Notes” users can share whatever they want in the form of text (up to 60 characters) and emojis. Similar to Stories, when posted to someone Notes will be visible for 24 hours and displayed on top of the inbox. „Candid Stories” is under testing asking users to take a picture of what they are doing at the moment. They will only be visible to those who also share their own Candid Stories.
Under Settings, this feature can be turned off. Candid Stories will be available for Facebook soon. And at last, people can join the „Group Profile” and share posts/stories with their friends. This content will not be shared with the followers. To create a new Group Profile people must tapp the plus (+) icon and select Group Profiles. Instagram is also testing the ‘Collaborative Collections’ feature that will allow users to connect with friends “over their shared interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in your group or 1:1 DMs.”
