The A6 processor chip that powers iPhone 5 has as we all expected two CPU cores. The mobile phone runs iOS 6 which was also officially launched today. iOS 6 will be available for all previous Apple mobile devices.
iOS 6 supports more than 200 new features. With today’s launch many past rumors were confirmed. iPhone 5 is thinnest and lightest iPhone yet. It features a 326ppi 4-inch Retina display that offers pixel-perfect rendering. The A6 chip that powers iPhone 5 is reportedly 2 times faster than Apple’s A5. Apple guaranteed a similar increase in performance for apps we use in our daily work. During the presentation Tim Steven introduced Rob Murray from EA. He demonstrated the graphic power of Apple’s new product by playing Porsche GT3. The phone will exceed the battery life of its predecessor. Apple talked about 10 hours of continuous Wi-Fi browsing or 8 hours of LTE or 3G talk time.
As it was expected iPhone 5 comes with an 8 megapixel camera with a sapphire lens crystal cover. Photos are clearer now also thanks to a smart-filter applied by the new image processor from the A6. The best part: Now iPhone can make panorama photos out of the box.
People all around the world thought iPhone 5 would launch in October 2011 when Apple introduced iPhone 4S. But today Apple did not disappoint anyone. Apple’s blockbuster event was held in San Francisco and during the event Apple chief Tim Stevens showed what iPhone 5 is all about. “So, iPhone 5. It is made entirely of glass and aluminum. It’s designed and built to an exacting level of standard unlike anything we, or anyone in our industry, have made before,” Steven said.
During the event Apple unveiled other products as well: a Retina 13″ MacBook Pro, the 5th generation iPod touch and the 7th generation iPod nano. iPod nano has a multi-touch 2.5 inch display. Quoting Tim Stevens “The best iPod touch” Apple has ever made is powered by the A5 processor. With faster graphics power the new iPod touch is perfect for Apple’s Game Center: 175000 available games for 150 million players.
Prices for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3 are expected to drop. And because Apple will cut prices, so will the people who sell their used iPhone mobile phones. If you plan to buy an iPhone 4 just wait a week to see a drastic drop in prices.
