If your search has relevant results in your mail then why shouldn’t Google be able to show it to you with all the other results?
Mail extracts that will be displayed as search results can be expanded so that you can read your entire mail right from the search results. If including mail search in web search proves to be a hit then who knows with what new feature will Google plan to impress us.
