NASA is preparing to use humanoid robots in space

And this time is about humanoid robots, NASA revealed. Two such robots will be send to scientists from MIT and the Northeastern University in Boston because the robots need to learn. A research grant of 250000 dollar will be paid over a period of two years to the universities to help developing the most appropriate program for space robots. NASA’s “Valkyrie” robot is 6 feet tall and weighs 290 pounds. Team led by Professor Russ Tedrake of CSAIL will have to develop the algorithms Another robot was initially designed to complete disaster-relief maneuvers but it seems that deep-space exploration is a new realistic target. Maybe the first robotic mission will be Mars.
