“It has been a long-time dream at Skype to break down language barriers and bring everyone across the globe closer together. Researchers, engineers, and many others across Microsoft have been working hard to make this dream a reality and we are looking forward to bringing this preview technology to more devices,” the  Skype team explained. It was not specified if later Skype Translator app will be released for Mac and Linux first, or if the technology will be added to the main Skype app. Skype Translator will automatically sign you into Skype using the Microsoft account that you use to log into your device. Webcam and speakers/headset must be activated. When you end the call, you’ll be able to view the transcript of your conversation by clicking the Save Transcript link.
