iOS 6 marked the launch of Apple’s very own map app but the new app did not create much of a buzz as there were a lot of complains from the users. The users complained for getting misguided by the map app and the inability of the map to provide transportation directions.
A week after the release of the new iOS, CEO of Apple, Tim Cook apologized to the users for the poor performance of the new map app and further added that the company will try to improve the functioning of the map app.
After the map app fiasco, there were doubts over the return of Google Maps to the iPhone.
But clearing all doubts, on Wednesday, Google released Google Maps for iPhones. Look and feel of this map is different from the past installments of Google Maps since it’s built by Google, not Apple. This new version of Google Maps include voice guided directions feature.
