Google Maps gets redesigned with some new features. Expect a bunch of user interface changes in Material Design, including new buttons and colorful icons against a mostly white background.
All was made for offering a better explore experience. The UI is now more colorful than ever with new animations and effects. The search bar on the top of the screen has now rounded corners. A useful Google Maps feature is the Explore tab, as a quick way of finding restaurants, takeaways, cafes and bars or places related to shopping, recreation, household activities, and the top events and activities happening in your area. There are plenty of new categories including food, shopping, services, and other areas of interest related to a particular location.
For the different kinds of eateries you see on Google Maps, there is a feature called Your Match which calculates the relevancy of a place for you based on your ratings, location history, and likings. The For You tab, currently only on Android devices in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Japan, displays stuff that is happening around your locality, office, or a city you frequent, including the new facts to be considered for exploration. f you don’t see any of these changes don’t worry, Google rolls out new updates gradually.
