The backup capabilities will be rolling out over the next few months, and will appear in users’ WhatsApp settings when available. Users will have to choose between daily, weekly or monthly basis for backup and also will can exclude the videos from. Data can be restored on a new Android phone, or the same one they already own if a technical event occurs. A special concern was addressed being specified that the privacy will be respected: the WhatsApp messages are encrypted, and opaque to Google. Using Google’s cloud on Google Drive accounts will set the space available for backup to a very large amount, so no problems even for very active WhatsApp users on their mobile phones.
