Top-seeded Novak Djokovic to meet Grigor Dimitrov in the 3rd round of the French Open

As of French Open 2013, Novak Djokovic has won all the Grand Slam titles except the French Open. The Serbian lost last year’s French Open title to the master of clay court Rafael Nadal. This year, Novak Djokovic is determined to give his best at the French Open.

Djokovic’s opponent in the 3rd round, the 26th seeded Dimitrov defeated Lucas Pouille from France in straight sets with the 2nd set going into the tie-breaker. The 3-rd round match up will be the second time Djokovic and Dimitrov play against each in May, 2013. Earlier in the month, Dimitrov stunned the world by defeating Djokovic in the 2nd round of the Madrid Open.

The Bulgarian also contested well against Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinal match that he eventually lost.

In the women’s segment, the defending champion Maria Sharapova is on her way to win the match against 19-year old Eugenie Bouchard. Rain interrupted the progress of the play.
