A junior player of the Castlemaine Football Netball Club died during an under-18s game in Victoria, Australia, on Saturday. A Bendigo league game between the Castlemaine and Kyneton senior teams planned for later in the day was abandoned. Kyneton cancelled Rural Round celebrations taking place at the Showgrounds. “Incredibly saddening and devastating,” Greater Bendigo councillor Matthew Evans declared.
