A junior player of the Castlemaine Football Netball Club died during an under-18s game in Victoria, Australia, on Saturday. The boy collapsed and was unresponsive during a game at the Kyneton Showgrounds. He died at the Kyneton Hospital. The incident occurred during the under-18s game between the Kyneton Tigers and Castlemaine Magpies. Kyneton cancelled Rural Round celebrations taking place at the Showgrounds. “Incredibly saddening and devastating,” Greater Bendigo councillor Matthew Evans declared. Tributes poured in from sporting clubs across the state on Saturday.
