Jessi Combs sportswoman and TV personality has died in a crash


Combs, nicknamed “the fastest woman on four wheels”, was the lead driver on the North American Eagle racing team. The North American Eagle is a supersonic vehicle made from the fuselage of a jet plane. She was driving through the Alvord Desert in Oregon when she lost control of the vehicle. Combs had previously driven the vehicle on the Alvord dry lake bed in September 2018. She set a record with a speed of 640km. On the day of the accident, Combs was attempting to break the Women’s Land Speed Record of 512 mph, set in 1976 by Kitty O’Neil. Combs appeared on 12 episodes of popular show Mythbusters during Season 7 while regular member Kari Byron was on maternity leave.


“Jessi’s most notable dream was to become the fastest woman on Earth, a dream she had been chasing since 2012… one of the rare dreamers with the bravery to turn those possibilities into reality, and she left this Earth driving faster than any other woman in history,” was said in a family statement.” I just want to thank all of you for your support and loyalty.
