The local boy Nasir Hossain along with Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim build a partnership of 87 runs before Nasir got out scoring 52. After Nasir’s departure two more wickets fell reducing Bangladesh a struggling 198 for 8.
At this juncture of the match, the fate of the match took a U-turn. The debutant No. 10 Abul Hasan partnered with Riad and built a partnership of record 172 runs. Both the batsmen remained unbeaten at the end of the day. Abul scored his maiden century on his first test match. Riad remained unbeaten at 72.
