The 23-year-old Bangladeshi opener was doubtful after he hurt a ligament in his left elbow during the 1st test match played in Dhaka that Bangladesh lost by 77-run. He was declared fit for the second test after passing a fitness test. In spite of Tamim’s return the team will probably see a new opener at the other end with Tamim. After a dismal performance at the first match, opener Junaid Siddique is expected to be dropped making way for Nazimuddin.
Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim has stressed that Tamim Iqbal, who has been only performing opener for last few openers is of enormous importance in the coming game.
Tamim’s inclusion is still not 100% sure and thus as a precautionary measure rookie opener Anamul Haque has been called upon as Tamim’s probable replacement.
The 2nd test match starts in about 8 hours from now.
