UEFA President Michel Platini along with former Miss Switzerland Melanie Winiger revealed the plans. He had the following to say:
“UEFA Euro 2020 will be a historic occasion, with matches of our flagship national team competition taking place in every corner of our continent.. It is truly, therefore, a Euro for Europe, where fans will have the unique opportunity to be part of the UEFA European Football Championship right on their doorstep.”
Commentators worldwide say Wembley has been one of UEFA’s favourite stadium on the continent. One argument to support this is that Wembley’s huge money-making potential made possible by its tier of 17,000 corporate seats. During the last four years it hosted UEFA’s flagship Champions League final two times.
