Ireland ties with Pakistan in a cliffhanger

Saeed Ajmal was bestowed with the responsibility to bowl the last over of the match. Ireland required to score 15 off 6 balls to win the game and 14 to tie. Eventually, Ireland led by Kevin O’ Brien managed to score 14 runs off the last over that include on six and one four.

 

Earlier in the day, Pakistani skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. The skipper proved the decision to be right by scoring 122 off just 113 balls. Asad Shafiq supported the captain by scoring 84 valuable runs. Pakistan posted a fighting total of 265 in 47 overs before rain interrupted the progress. The game was then changed to an 47 over game with a revised target of 276 from 47 overs.  Kevin O’ Brien was adjudicated as the Man of the match for his unbeaten knock of 84 off  just 47 balls.
