Two competitors dead at MotoAmerica Superbike Superstock 1000 race at Laguna Seca

A multi-bike incident occurred at the start of the MotoAmerica Superbike Superstock 1000 race at Laguna Seca on Sunday. It resulted in the deaths of two competitors: Bernat Martinez, 35, of Alberic, Valencia and Daniel Rivas Fernandez,27, of Moana Galicia, both from Spain. Daniel Rivas had just launched his BMW S1000RR from row three of the grid when his bike lost power and slowed suddenly. Rivas was struck by at least one rider.

Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix


The winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix, on Sunday, is Lewis Hamilton (England). He covered the circuit in 1 hour, 42 minutes, 29.445 seconds, 70 laps. His car’s number on the competition was “10” and he started from the pole position. The next in the ranking were Kimi Raikkonen (Finland) and Sebastian Vettel (Germany). Hamilton’s car was a Mercedes and this car exceeded expectations. Raikkonen had a Lotus and Vettel a Red Bull.

The 37th Dakar Rally started in January

665 valiant competitors crossed the start line of the 37th Dakar Rally the last weekend. They have to go across 5,661 miles of South America, a loop that incorporates the most inhospitable parts of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. The competitors will complete 13 stages. Satellite  navigator systems are banned.

Daytona Crash Raises Fan Safety Concerns


The Daytona 500 is set to start today, but concerns have been raised over the safety of fans following a crash which lefty fans injured during the NASCAR race held at the Daytona International Speedway. The grisly crash left at least 33 injured, when a car flew through the fence.
