The outburst was reportedly ten times brighter than the biggest star explosion known to scientists world-wide.

The super-sized black hole is at the very heart of the NGC 660 galaxy. In their quest to find out whether the black hole was formed out of the galaxy’s core or of a supernova, scientists have looked for key signs. Using telescopes from a global network, researchers were able to identify five locations with bright radio emissions located around the core of the galaxy.

These signs support the theory that the massive black hole was created from the death of a giant star. Scientists cataloged it as being a super massive black hole.
