Yusaku Maezawa, 42 old, a clothing tycoon from Japan, the founder of Japan’s largest retail website, billionaire entrepreneur and art collector, is expected to make the journey aboard SpaceX’s Big Falcon Rocket. He expects to take the trip sometime around 2023, if the rocket is ready. The Japanese billionaire paid an undisclosed amount. He will also take in the trip a few other peoples, eight artists. “I thought about how I can give back to the world, and how this can contribute to world peace. This is my lifelong dream,” Maezawa said.  His hope it’s the trip will inspire artists to create great works. “I can tell you that I choose to go to the Moon! I choose to go to the moon with artists!” Maezawa said at the SpaceX event.

The Falcon Heavy did launch for the first time this past year, but wasn’t carrying humans or traveling to the moon. Instead, it ejected a bright red Tesla convertible into orbit around the sun. Elon Musk is known for getting people excited about the future. Possibly this time he would make history. This could be an opportunity to change the face of space exploration. The Big Falcon Rocket will be nearly 400 feet long. The plan is to send passengers around the moon and back in about five days.
